The Museum of Ethnography has been enriched with a Motanka doll

Thanks to József Bacskai, Consul General and Head of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhhorod, a beautiful handmade Motanka doll has entered the museum’s collection.

The traditional Ukrainian amulet doll is made without sewing, using twisting and weaving techniques, and in Ukrainian folk tradition it symbolizes family unity. It is a unique work of folk art that preserves both artisanal knowledge and collective memory.

We express our gratitude for this generous donation!
