The Museum of Ethnography Nominated for the Prestigious Luigi Micheletti Award

We are delighted to announce that the Museum of Ethnography has been nominated for the 2025 Luigi Micheletti Award. The nomination was confirmed by the organisers following the museum’s application and a subsequent visit from the jury.

The Luigi Micheletti Award is one of Europe’s most prestigious museum honours, presented annually as a key initiative of the Luigi Micheletti Foundation. It serves as a significant mark of professional recognition within the European museum sector, primarily rewarding outstanding permanent exhibitions that are notable not only for their content, but for the way in which historical material is translated into compelling narrative form.

At the heart of the award lies not simply the exhibition of objects, but the storytelling behind them: how a display becomes a personal, social or cultural experience for the visitor.

This very approach is central to the Museum of Ethnography’s new permanent exhibition, where the objects in the collection reveal human destinies and cultural patterns that come vividly to life.
