Take a look at the new museum's design plans

The permanent and temporary exhibition spaces -located under the ground- were designed due to modern museum functions and are three times larger than before. Above the ground level in one wing of the building, there is a permanent exhibition for children and youth and in the other one a museum shop, an archive research room, a reading room in a reference library and a screening and event venue can be found. It is also home to two associated institutions, the Hungarian Ethnographic Society, and the Hungarian Cultural Anthropological Society. There are also operational and museological workrooms for the museum's background work as well as conservator workshop, photo studio and different warehouses (warehouse of library, archive, museum education and works of art).
