CONTEMPORARY APPROACHES 6 10/Sep/2025 - 23/Nov/2025

One genre, an infinity of approaches’ is one way to describe the Museum of Ethnography’s Ceramics Space, a permanent exhibition opened to the public in 2022. In this series, we will be taking a look at some of the objects on display through the eyes of symposium artists from the Kecskemét International Ceramics Studio, in each case drawing inspiration from the exhibition’s own 3000-plus pieces. The sixth instalment of the series features a work by ceramic artist Anita Monori.

Location: Ceramics Space (Level -2)

Ceramicist and designer Anita Monori graduated from the ceramics programme at the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design in 2009. In 2012, she established her own brand name, ‘Design by Monori,’ to include custom designed and produced articles of porcelain. As Monori prefers to work in superb quality and with the highest possible precision, she has chosen to employ not only traditional techniques, but also modern technological solutions. She enjoys constructing her works with combinations that open up exciting new possibilities in object creation. Her current primary inspiration is experimentation with traditional and modern shaping tools, preferring simple, clean forms that permit playful graphic designs and other decorative solutions.
