Guided tour of the Yanomami. Spirits. Survivors. photo exhibition

26/Apr/2024 10:30 - 11:30

The Museum of Ethnography is hosting the first comprehensive exhibition of Brazilian photographer Claudia Andujar in Hungary. Although her images are held in many of the world's renowned public collections and she is a regular participant in international photographic events, the work of this photographer, who is of Hungarian descent on her father's side, is still little known in the region.

This exhibition presents a small but important part of his oeuvre, in collaboration with the Vermelho Gallery in São Paulo. Following a chronological line, we move from the period of magazine photography and experimentation after his arrival in Brazil to the artistic and activist images he made among the indigenous people of Yanomami, and then to the contemporary treatment of his oeuvre, from the 1960s to the 2010s.
